Lumicube - First major show for Perspex lighting designer

Working from an arts based mixed media studio in the centre of Brighton, Michael Seal, director of Lumicube has been designing and making Perspex lighting for more than 6 years.

With support from 100% light and Lucite International, Michael will be exhibiting at 100% Light to launch a number of new lighting products Including the Owall, a mobile illuminated Perspex wall; the Otable, a circular illuminated Perspex dining table; the Obox and the Ooo lamp to name a few.

All products are made from wonderful Perspex and so an extensive range of colour's are available, with specific colour matching as well as bespoke lighting is made possible.


New Lumicube - it's a light, it's a table and now it's a seat...

Michael Seal, designer of the original Lumicube bedside table has produced a new range of illuminated side tables and seats ideal for use in hotel rooms, in bars & clubs or in contemporary living rooms.

Hand made from 6mm or 10mm translucent white Perspex, this robust illuminated cube uses filtered light to offer a range of hot and cool colour's, and as an option the Lumicube can be fitted with colour changing LED's for sequences of hot or cool colour's as desired.

The standard T6 lumicube is a 400mm cube on 25mm frosted Perspex feet. The T10 is made from 10mm Perspex, and can be also used as a seat. There is also a bespoke service if required.


Lumino - the light with the hole... new energy efficient designs for 2006

The new Lumino L1200 and L750e, Perspex chandeliers will be launched at this years 100% Light

Lumino L750, the original ring shaped chandelier, is made from translucent white Perspex and is illuminated by a ring of candle lamps. A gel filter surrounds each lamp projecting coloured light onto the Lumino's body making it appear coloured. The beauty of this design is that these filters can be removed to create a white body, or exchanged for another colour as desired. Colourways: pink, orange, blue and purple.

Lumino L750e is the new bright white version, made from opal white Perspex and illuminated by a powerful and energy efficient 60W circular fluorescent tube. This low profile lamp is only 60mm in depth and when viewed from a distance creates a crisp line of light . On a closer view the unique 750mm diameter ring shape becomes more apparent.

Following a request and a recent commission by a department store, Michael has created the Lumino L1200. This is a larger version of the L750e, at 1200mm diameter and 100mm in depth. It is illuminated from within by an array of 6 circular lamps, producing 132 watts of energy efficient fluorescent light. The Lumino L1200 is impressive, and can be used in hotels, bars, retail spaces and other similar contemporary interiors.


Obox - the square light with the hole... new lamp for 2006

Inspired by the simple idea of cutting a circular hole through a square object, Michael has created the Obox, a sculptural luminaire that embodies both form and function. This unique lamp, looks good on a table, on a shelf or on the floor. However it can also be fixed onto a wall or hung horizontally as a pendant.

Obox contains and is illuminated by the ideally suited 60W circular fluorescent lamp, making it a powerful and energy efficient light source. It's dimensions are 500mm square by 100mm in depth and it's available in the wide range of frosted and non-frosted Perspex colour's.
